The Art Gallery

Here is a collection of twelve original pieces of art that I made during the pandemic. I set up a little art studio in the basement of my family’s house. Using boxes of old crayons, markers, colored pencils and oil pastels that I started crafting surreal, colorful worlds. I blended the art supplies from my childhood with charcoal and professional markers. My pieces are largely not planned. I instead improvise on the page, just like I do when I compose music.

I draw inspiration from some of my favorite artists: Salvador Dali, Joan Miró, Paul Klee, Toyen and Vasily Kandinsky.
