Bringing Laurel Canyon To Echo Park

Nicholas moved to Los Angeles from Philadelphia in March of 2024, with the goal of furthering his career as a music composer for film. Soon after the cross-country journey drive in his Mini Cooper, he started writing and finishing folk songs. In July of 2025, he publicly premiered seven of his songs (including “Mystery Love” and “My Good Friend Yesterday”) at a show at Topo Designs in Larchmont. This was also the first time that he played guitar in front of a crowd of people (he taught himself the instrument in 2020).

In May of 2026, he recorded his debut album “Echo Park Avenue”. It was recorded in live takes onto a Tascam 388 1/4 inch analog tape machine. The album is inspired by 60’s and 70’s folk (specifically the Laurel Canyon Sound) and features stripped back, solo live-recorded vocals, a Godin guitar, Hohner Bluesband harmonicas (plus his Pearl flute on one track). He plans to release the album in the coming months. The songs are inspired by his experience moving to LA and his neighborhood/street in Echo Park.

His musical influences include Neil Young, Jim Croce, Joni Mitchell, Gordon Lightfoot, Bob Dylan, the Laurel Canyon Sound.

He has been a featured performer at a number of showcases in Los Angeles, including We Found New Music (WFNM) and Folk Revolt. He has also performed at a number of open mics around Los Angeles, including Writer’s Round, Cornell Wine Company and Cowboy Poetry.

Gigging: Nicholas performs 2 hour+ solo sets, mixing his original songs with acoustic covers of 60’s and 70’s folk songs.
